Association of Florida Colleges, TSC Chapter

Mission Statement

The Association of Florida Colleges, Inc. is the professional association of Florida's 28 public member institutions of the Florida College System, their boards, employees, retirees and associates, and the employees of the Division of Florida Colleges. The mission of the Association is to actively promote, represent, and support members and institutions as they provide their students and the citizens of Florida with a world-class college system. 

Organization

The Association is guided by Bylaws and organized through a network of College Chapters, Commissions, and Regions.  The AFC is governed by an Executive Committee and a Board of Directors. A full-time staff of six administers the day-to-day operations, maintains membership records, and coordinates communications and professional development opportunities.

  1. Leadership Opportunities – Learn new leadership skills by serving on the board and participate in community projects.
  2. Scholarships and Awards – Access to $500 scholarships for you, your spouses and dependents
  3. Social Event – Extend your social network by participating in a variety of meetings and events.
  4. Professional Development – Access to earning a certificate in the FCPC and participating in next-level leadership programs (supervisor approval required). These are exciting avenues for personal and professional growth.
  5. Networking Platform – Access the Members Only networking platform to share ideas, and mentoring opportunities.

Strategic Goals

  1. Develop and support professional development, education, and leadership opportunities of the Association members.
  2. Advocate for policies, budgets, and programs on behalf of the Association's institutional and individual members.
  3. Communicate public policy and legislative issues, and engage in cooperative research activities related to those issues.
  4. Increase public awareness of the mission, purpose, and accomplishments of the Florida College System.
  5. Showcase and reward exemplary programs, practices, activities, and individuals.
  6. Enhance, encourage, and facilitate communication, cooperation, professionalism, and camaraderie among individual Association members.
  7. Promote membership development and services that ensure an active and vital Association.
  8. Maintain a fiscally sound organization that is efficiently and effectively managed.
  9. Provide opportunities for and engage in services to benefit the external community.

The Kearney Center Volunteer Opportunity

  • July 18, 2025, at 11 a.m. - 12:30 p.m. at the Kearney Center (Volunteers are encouraged to arrive by 10:45 a.m. and be ready to serve by 11:00 a.m.)

AFC Annual Meeting and Joint Councils Convening 

  • November 12-14 at the Renaissance Orlando at SeaWorld. Presented in partnership with the AFC Foundation, the events offer you an opportunity to connect and learn from your colleagues through workshops, panels, and networking sessions.

Unity in numbers is our goal.  All members of AFC are welcome to attend the conference; however, you must have approval from your supervisor and complete an AFC travel form (attached). For more information about the conference, please contact me via email or    phone. Please do not create a spend authorization without travel related expenses approval from me.

We will begin hosting quarterly membership meetings.  We will continue to grow and learn together.
