In this section:Tallahassee State College is accredited by the Southern Association of Colleges and Schools Commission on Colleges (SACSCOC) to award associate and baccalaureate degrees. Tallahassee State College also may offer credentials such as certificates and diplomas at approved degree levels. The Office of Institutional Effectiveness provides accreditation leadership to the College by performing the following functions:
- Provides overall leadership to ensure compliance with the Southern Association of Colleges and Schools Commission on Colleges (SACSCOC) accreditation standards
- Works with departments to ensure appropriate reporting of substantive changes to SACSCOC
- Submits annual reports to SACSCOC and responds to requests for information from the Commission
- Represents the college in SACSCOC activities
- Supports programs in their accreditation self-studies
Please note that any changes to the institutional structure or program design may affect the College’s accreditation status. These are noted as Substantive Changes that must comply with SACSCOC guidelines and procedures. As a support office, the OIE provides guidance to help navigate this process.
The Southern Association of Colleges and Schools Commission on Colleges (SACSCOC) is the regional body for the accreditation of degree-granting higher education institutions in the Southern states. It serves as the common denominator of shared values and practices among the diverse institutions in Alabama, Florida, Georgia, Kentucky, Louisiana, Mississippi, North Carolina, South Carolina, Tennessee, Texas, Virginia and Latin America and other international sites approved by the SACSCOC Board of Trustees that award associate, baccalaureate, master’s, or doctoral degrees.
