Tallahassee Community College surpassed last year’s fall enrollment with a total of 11,634 students for the first day of fall term classes. For the 2020 fall term, the College enrolled 11,233 students. That is an increase of nearly 4%.
This increase in students has also triggered an urgent need for adjunct faculty. TCC is seeking English, Math and Biology adjunct faculty. The College is offering a financial incentive to adjuncts who can fill this need. Adjunct faculty can now earn nearly $3,000 per class to teach in the fall semester.
Those interested in teaching one or more classes can contact Science and Math Dean Kalynda Holton at (850) 201-8107 or at kalynda.holton@tcc.fl.edu.
The College is offering various course modalities this year are:
· On-campus face-to-face classes.
· TCC LIVE (Learning Interactively in a Virtual Environment) – synchronous online classes using software allowing students to meet at regularly scheduled times.
· TCC Online – synchronous classes that allow students flexibility to complete coursework online with predetermined deadlines.
· Hybrid – classes that may include a combination of online and face-to-face coursework.
As of Tuesday, there were 723 face-to-face classes offered, 551 online courses and 247 TCC LIVE classes. In fall 2020, we had approximately 20% of the College’s classes conducted in-person.
The increase in the number of students and the demand for face-to-face classes has contributed to the demand for more faculty.
TCC is also partnering with the Florida Department of Health to administer COVID-19 vaccinations to students, faculty, staff and the community on select dates in the Student Union on the main campus.
