Tallahassee Community College is reserving more than $20 million in cash grants to current and future students for the Fall semester. The College is also offering $50 digital Amazon gift cards to the first 1,000 students who register for 6 or more credit hours between June 7 and June 30 by visiting www.tcc.fl.edu/fall2021.
TCC is using the Higher Education Emergency Relief Fund (HEERF) to provide direct relief to vulnerable students who need it most. More TCC students than ever before are dealing with unusual circumstances that include food and housing insecurity during the pandemic. The grant, unlike loans, do not have to be paid back.
“We are excited to receive the federal aid to help our students who have been affected by the pandemic,” said Barbara Wills, Vice President of Administrative Services & Chief Business Officer. “Students will have the opportunity to use these funds to further their education and address any personal financial obligations.”
Funds are available for students based on part-time or full-time status and financial need. Student eligibility is determined according to guidance from the United States Department of Education. To be eligible to receive emergency aid, you must meet the qualifications below:
- Be enrolled at Tallahassee Community College in at least one course in a degree or certificate program
- Have a high school diploma or a General Education Development (GED) certificate or have completed homeschooling
- Be a U.S. citizen or national, permanent resident, or an eligible noncitizen
- You must complete a TCC eligible application

Students attending TCC this fall will be able to engage in a full College experience, while also taking advantage of a variety of course modalities that include remote learning and as many face-to-face classes as requested.
“For Fall 2021, we are providing a multitude of course modalities for our students,” said Calandra Stringer, Vice President of Academic Affairs and Provost. “This includes in-person, asynchronous online, TCC LIVE (synchronous online), and hybrid. The various modalities allow students to choose the option that accommodates their preferred learning style. The various modalities also assist students who are working by providing flexibility for those who have demanding work schedules. This fall term, we are providing more in-person courses which has been highly requested by our students.”
Students will be able to enjoy the return of athletic competition, student organizations, clubs and more in a learning environment with a proven track record of keeping students safe.
“TCC looks forward to relaunching our live student activities this fall with ‘Weeks of Welcome,’” said Gerald Jones, Associate Vice President of Student Affairs. “These student development programs are designed to create a sense of belonging, as well as equipping students with communication and leadership skills. Highlights will include: Fall Convocation, Welcome Back Bash, Fall Sports League, Club Involvement Fair, plus our Student Leadership Retreat, to name a few.”
