Tallahassee Community College is pleased to announce the addition of five new associate in science (A.S.) degree programs: A.S. in Accounting Technology, A.S. in Cybersecurity Operations, A.S. in Medical Office Administration, Supply Chain Management, A.S. in Unmanned Vehicle Systems. The degree programs have been approved by the Southern Association of Colleges and Schools Commission on Colleges (SACSOC). The five programs are enrolling now for January 2024.
“TCC is excited to offer the new A.S. degrees that are designed to meet the local and regional workforce needs,” said Dr. Calandra Stringer, Provost and Vice President for Academic Affairs at TCC. “The degrees will provide students with work-based learning experiences and equip students with the skills and knowledge needed to pursue careers in these high-demand fields.”
Accounting Technology is a 60-credit-hour program that prepares students to enter careers such as accounts receivable coordinators, accounts payable coordinators, bookkeepers, credit and collections coordinators, payroll coordinators, accountants, auditors, tax preparers, and other accounting paraprofessionals in advanced professional accounting occupations.
Cybersecurity Operations is a 60-credit-hour program that teaches students how to become the first line of defense by monitoring, detecting, and analyzing security breaches and how to work with other team members to respond to and mitigate security-type events. This program prepares students for jobs such as computer programmer aide, junior programmer, senior programmer, data manager, programmer analyst, and mid-range computer specialist.
Medical Office Administration is a 60-credit-hour program that emphasizes medical transcription, records management, insurance, billing and coding, and other front-office activities. Medical office support personnel with these highly sought-after skills can find careers in medical offices, clinics, hospitals, and other healthcare organizations.
Supply Chain Management is a 60-credit hour program that prepares students for transportation, distribution, and logistics careers. Students will learn standard operating procedures, negotiation techniques, planning, organizing, and accounting concepts, purchasing, sustainability, warehousing, project management, quality control, import/export, and asset management theory.
Unmanned Vehicle Systems Operation is a 62-credit-hour program that will provide students with the necessary skills and knowledge needed to become industry leaders in a variety of Unmanned Systems positions, including UAS and ROV pilots, sensor operators, mission planners, and ground technicians. Students study the spectrum of the industry, including hazardous operations, government regulations, surveillance, data collection, and the engineering aspects of Unmanned Systems. The degree qualifies students as subject matter experts in data collection, retrieval, editing, display, and delivery.

The Southern Association of Colleges and Schools Commission on Colleges (SACSCOC) is the body for the accreditation of degree-granting higher education institutions in the Southern states.
