Tallahassee Community College (TCC) and Tallahassee Collegiate Academy (TCA) will host Secure Our World Together, a cybersecurity symposium on October 30 from 2:30 to 4 p.m. The event will take place at Tallahassee Collegiate Academy, located in Building 8 on the TCC campus. It is free to attend and open to the public.
The symposium aims to educate attendees about the essential ways to stay safe online through various booths and interactive simulations while promoting degree pathways in cybersecurity. Members of the TCC Cyber Club and TCA students in the introductory cybersecurity essentials class will host cyber-related informational booths and will be available to answer questions, provide resources, and share insights into the cybersecurity industry. Attendees can learn about cybersecurity degree pathways offered at TCC and the high school connections and dual-enrollment opportunities in cybersecurity fields offered through the College and charter school.
“Promoting Cybersecurity Month at Tallahassee Community College and Tallahassee Collegiate Academy is vital in today’s digital age. We must equip our students and staff with the knowledge and skills to navigate the ever-evolving landscape of online threats,” said Dr. Calandra Stringer, Provost and Vice President for Academic Affairs. “By fostering a culture of cybersecurity awareness, we are not only safeguarding our institutions but also empowering our community to thrive in a world where cyber risks are increasingly prevalent.”
