The Tallahassee Community College Forensics Team won first place at the 2024 Florida College System Activities Association (FCSAA) State Forensics Championship. This is the team’s 10th consecutive state title.
All team members were recognized as state finalists and brought home awards in 35 of 37 events.
The team captured first place in Overall, Debate, and Individual Events for the Team Sweepstakes category. Aliyah Salce placed first, Grace Duvet second, Janelle Dixon third, Cassidy Cummings fourth place, Trevor Bell fifth, and John Wickman sixth for Overall Individual Speakers.
Aliyah Salce won first place in Extemporaneous Speaking, Impromptu Speaking, IPDA Debate, NPDA Debate, Duo Interpretation, and Program Oral Interpretation. Grace Duvet won first place in NPDA Debate, Duo Interpretation, and Communication Analysis. Cassidy Cummings took home first place in Poetry Interpretation. and Aries Batista earned first place for Dramatic Interpretation. Janelle Dixon won first place in Prose Interpretation and After Dinner Speaking. Trevor Bell and John Wickman won for NPDA Debate. Additionally, Clia Brown placed second in Duo Interpretation, and Joseph Eugene placed third in NPDA Debate.
