Tallahassee Community College’s Gadsden Center and Sunshine Health have formed a partnership that will provide 60 Gadsden County residents with full scholarships to earn a post-secondary credential in short-term healthcare programs. Karen Bevis said she has a great deal of admiration for Tallahassee Community College, so much that she has earned three degrees from the College. Her desire to have a career 25 years after graduating high school led her to enrolling into the Help Desk/Technical Support program. Leon County Commissioner Kristin Dozier had the opportunity to work at her family’s construction business while earning her associate degree at Tallahassee Community College before transferring to the university system. Dozier gained on-the-job training at various job sites but said the building construction management program at TCC offers a workforce training component to students. Read More

U.S. Assistant Secretary of Commerce for Economic Development Dr. John Fleming announced today that Tallahassee Community College (TCC) is receiving a $1.2 million grant to support the Welding Technologies Laboratory (WTL). The WTL project will provide a state-of-the-art “hands-on lab” for students taking welding courses at the College’s Kim B.
