When does the Learning Commons open and close?

The Learning Commons opens Monday through Friday at 7:30 a.m. 

The Learning Commons closes Monday through Thursday at 7:30 p.m. We close at 5 p.m. on Fridays.

Does the Learning Commons offer weekend hours?

The Learning Commons is not open on Saturday or Sunday.

The Learning Commons often offers extended virtual hours before final exams. Check out our homepage for any upcoming weekend availability.

Are computers available for student use?

Yes. Computers are available on a first-come-first-serve basis on the first and second floors of the Learning Commons. 

How do I print in the Learning Commons?

Printers are available for printing, scanning, and photocopying on the first and second floors of the Learning Commons. Students are credited up to $4.00 to use for printing every semester.

You can print using the Eagle Print website.

Can I take an Honorlock test in the Learning Commons?

Honorlock testing rooms are available on a walk-in/first-come-first-serve basis in the Learning Commons and the Library. 

How do I use the TSC WiFi in the Learning Commons?

Are study rooms available?

Study rooms are currently unavailable in the Learning Commons. Study rooms are available in the TSC Library.

Tutoring FAQ's

Is the Learning Commons open for tutoring walk-ins?

Absolutely. The Learning Commons is open. Walk-ins are welcome on a first-come, first-served basis in our physical location (LC30). Our business hours are Monday-Thursday: 7:30 AM - 7:30 PM and Friday: 7:30 AM - 5:00 PM.

How do I sign in for a tutoring conference?

  • Check in to EagleQ aka Qless.
  • Type in your name and a current phone number where we can reach you.
  • Select the type of conference you need: Communications (Writing Conference, Spanish, Humanities Conference, Reading Conference, English Skills), Mathematics, Sciences, Technology (Computer Programming, General Technology Conference).
    • You can sign in for Success Coaching under any queue. 
  • You will receive a text message with instructions when it is your turn. 

You can download the Qless app on your phone for easy access on the go. 

What happens after I sign in for tutoring?

After you sign in to EagleQ/QLess, you will receive a phone call from a Learning Commons receptionist who is going to ask if you are going to have a face-to-face session, or if a tutor needs to send out a virtual tutoring (GoBoard or Zoom) link.

If you are requesting a virtual session, you will receive an email from your tutor when your turn has come to begin your conference. Please check your TSC e-mail and respond to the virtual tutoring link right away.

How to Access Learning Commons Tutoring via EagleQ/QLess Video

Are virtual tutoring conferences available?

Yes. Virtual conferences are available via email, phone, GoBoard, and Zoom after logging into EagleQ/Qless during our business hours. 

If you receive a virtual conference invite, please respond promptly since other students are waiting in line for tutoring conferences.

Does the Learning Commons help with resumes?

Yes! Our writing specialists and tutors can assist you with career writing, such as resumes, cover letters, and personal statements. 

We encourage you to check out our. 

How long are tutoring sessions? How many sessions can I sign up for in a day?

This will depend on the type of tutoring session. Most tutoring sessions are limited to up to 30 minutes except for Reading Conferences. 

You can request as many tutoring sessions as needed. However, you are required to wait at least 30 minutes between sessions

How can I get tutoring help when the Learning Commons is closed?

Use Brainfuse Online Tutoring can be accessed through your classes on Canvas.

Academic Success Coaching in the Learning Commons is a free service to students at Tallahassee State College offered to help students advance their college success skills, navigate the new college environment, and achieve their academic, professional, and personal goals. Do I have a success coach?

Most likely, yes. Success coaching is available to all students at Tallahassee State College. Many students are assigned a during their first year. Check your text messages and TSC email regularly for updates from your success coach.

Is success coaching open for walk-ins?

Yes. Walk-ins are welcome on a first-come, first-served basis in our physical location. You can visit us on the second floor of the Learning Commons (LC260A) and the second floor of the Library (LB217). 

What can I expect during my first success coaching meeting?

During your first success coaching meeting, you can expect to discuss your current classes, the challenges you are experiencing, and your goals. 

How do I set up an appointment with a success coach?

You are encouraged to reach out to your academic success coach via email, text message, or phone to set up an appointment. 

Is my success coach the same person as my advisor?

No. Your success coach is not an academic advisor. You can connect with your assigned academic advisor through the TSC Advisor Connection icon on Workday. Learn more about academic advising
