Library Mission Statement

In support of the mission of Tallahassee State College, the Libraries serve as a locus in providing academic and social spaces that promote educational, cultural, technological, and lifelong learning opportunities for students, faculty, staff, and members of the community. By facilitating access to services and resources that support current and emerging trends in higher education, the Libraries are responsive to the needs of the College’s learning community.

Library Locations

Main Campus TSC Library

Located on the main campus, the TSC Library shares a building with the Learning Commons and provides resources and services to suit the academic needs of our main campus students and instructors. Check out items at the first-floor circulation desk and receive research and citation assistance at the second-floor reference desk. TSC students, faculty, and staff may also use our computers to print and reserve study rooms for individual or group study. Join our group on MYTSC.

TSC Riley Archive on Main Campus

Housed on the first floor of the main campus Library, the TSC Riley Archive is a collection of papers, manuscripts, and books on general African-American history from the Civil War to the Civil Rights eras (1860-1960), with a specific focus on Leon and Gadsden Counties in North Florida.

Tallahassee Democrat Photo Collection

Housed on the 2nd floor of the main campus library, the Tallahassee Democrat Photo Collection includes over 31,000 photos in 31 cabinets, a total number of standard boxes 25, and 2 file cabinets with negatives and microfilm from (1982–2006). The collection consists of two groups of images: original photographs and microfilms. Specifically, the collections consist of black and white photos, though not limited to but primarily of Tallahassee people, places, and other news images created between approximately 1978 to 1993, together with a collection of microfilm reels of editions of the Tallahassee Democrat as published between 1905 and the present (the "Microfilm") (collectively, the "Newspaper Archives"), housed by Licensee, Tallahassee State College.

Ghazvini Library

The Ghazvini Library is on the second floor of the Ghazvini Center for Healthcare Education. TSC students, faculty, and staff may check out books and other items, including laptops, webcams, headphones, and marker + eraser sets. Computers, printing, and study rooms are also available. Books and materials at this library are tailored to serve the needs of healthcare students at the Ghazvini Center. Join our group on MYTSC.
