Division Programs
The Division of Social Science offers general education core and elective courses for students enrolled in the Associate in Arts (A. A.) college transfer program, as well as selected courses for the Associate in Science (A. S.) degree and certificate programs.

Within Behavioral Sciences, we offer 17 courses and up to 80 sections of those courses in each typical semester. These courses include various topics within the fields of:

History
The TSC History and Anthropology Department offers an array of Associate of Arts level survey courses that are widely accepted at four-year colleges and universities. These courses satisfy the State of Florida and TSC General Education Social Science core and elective requirements and also prepare students for upper-division majors in History and Anthropology.

AMH 2020 satisfies Area 9 State Social Science Core Group 2: Civic Literacy and prepares students for the Florida Civic Literacy Exam. The other History courses satisfy Area 10 TSC Social Science Core Group 1 and can also be used to meet TSC Associate of Arts elective credit requirements.

ANT 2000 satisfies Area 9 State Social Science Core Group 1. The other Anthropology courses satisfy Area 10 TSC Social Science Core Group 1 and can also be used to meet TSC Associate of Arts elective credit requirements. All course descriptions are available in the TSC Catalog. TSC History and Anthropology Department faculty are experts in their fields and prioritize student learning and success.
Political Science
We offer courses in American Government, Comparative Politics, State and Local Politics, Public Administration, the U.S. Constitution, and an Introduction to Political Science. Further, we offer an internship that allows students to gain experience in the field.
Student Life Skill Courses
Enrolling in a Student Life Skills course, also known as College Success Classes, can increase your chance of success in college and in your career. You’ll gain valuable leadership experience, time management and study skills, and a better understanding of your strengths that will help you succeed in the workplace.

- SLS 2261 - Dynamics of Leadership Development
As an integral part of all Dynamics of Leadership Development (SLS 2261) classes, students are required to complete a project of their choosing that fits within the Service Learning criteria. Students can work with any established TSC community partner or an outside organization of their choice. At the end of the semester, the service hours devoted to the project are added to the student’s TSC transcript.
