Commercial Vehicle Driving
The Commercial Vehicle Driving Career Certificate program teaches a multitude of skills that prepare students for entry into the trucking and logistics industry.
Admission Requirements:
- At least a standard high school diploma or GED diploma
- Must be at least 18 years of age (Please note students under 21 years of age must show proof of employment or intent to hire within the trucking industry, due to most employers requiring candidates to be at least 21 years of age )
- Provide a 7-year Driving History no older than 45 days prior to the first day of class which shows no major traffic violations (including the below) within that timeframe:
- No DUI
- No Careless Driving
- No more than 6 points within 3 years
- Complete and pass the Department of Transportation (DOT) Physical Exam prior to the first day of class
- Complete and pass a Drug Screen within 30 days prior to the first day of class
Financial Aid:
This program is not eligible for Federal Financial Aid however, if eligible, you may qualify for VA benefits, other financial assistance, CareerSource funding, or participate in an alternative payment plan option.

Correctional Officer
Through TSC's Correctional Officer Certification Program, students can learn practical skills while also preparing for the Florida Department of Law Enforcement’s (FDLE) State Officer Certification Examination (SOCE). Additionally, this program provides job-related training to candidates for full-time or part-time correctional officer positions that require entry-level certification in accordance with Chapter 943, Florida Statutes, and Chapter 11B-35, Florida Administrative Code.
Emergency Medical Technician
Job growth and security, stimulating work environments, and the opportunity to serve the public are just some of the benefits of a career in Emergency Medical Services. The Emergency Medical Technician (EMT) Certificate prepares students to perform safely and efficiently as part of a medical team. You’ll grow personally as you help meet the needs of your patients, their families, and your community. It takes two semesters to become certified as an EMT. Evening classes are available for the EMT certificate program.
Completion of the EMT Applied Technology Certificate Program at TSC qualifies students to sit for the registry exam as an EMT. Once licensed, you may wish to launch your career at this point, or you may wish to build on this foundation by proceeding to apply for paramedic training to become a registered paramedic.
Admission Pre-Requisites
Applicant must be at least 18 years of age and meet all admission requirements of the College.
Applicant must be college-ready in English and Reading, which means the applicant does not need developmental education courses in English and reading. The applicant must be eligible for at least Level 2 developmental math. This requirement may be satisfied by one or more of the following options:
- The Florida Statute on Developmental Education exemption
- Adequate placement scores from the Florida Postsecondary Education Readiness Test (PERT) or other college placement scores accepted by TSC
- Completion of developmental education courses
- Completion of at least ENC1101 College Composition and MAT0018 Foundations of College Mathematics I or higher developmental mathematics course or one general education Mathematics State Core course
Applicant must have also completed the following:
- Approved first responder course (EMS1059C)
Applicant must hold current American Heart Association Basic Life Support for the Healthcare Provider or American Red Cross CPR for the Healthcare Provider and Professional Rescuer certification. (One of these two hands-on courses is required; online courses are not acceptable.)
At a scheduled time, the applicant will have to demonstrate the ability to lift 125 pounds, successfully complete a course readiness test and complete an interview. All students participating in this program must pass all clinical affiliates’ requirements for criminal background checks, drug screenings and health/immunizations before starting classes.

Nursing Assistant - Long Term Care (Certified Nursing Assistant)
The Nursing Assistant - Long Term Care/Home Health Aide course at the TSC Gadsden Center prepares students to enter the healthcare industry in an entry-level position as a Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) or Home Health Aide. The program provides students with classroom, laboratory, and clinical instruction. Upon completing the program, students will earn a Certificate of Completion for Home Health Aide and register to complete the CNA Board Exam.
Length: 120 hours

Explore the Nursing Assistant - Long Term Care (Certified Nursing Assistant) program
Phlebotomy Technician
This course prepares students to enter the healthcare industry as Certified Phlebotomy Technicians and includes theory and hands-on instruction. Individuals are trained in technical and procedural aspects of basic phlebotomy, including venipuncture and collection of blood specimens required to become a Phlebotomy Technician. For successful course completion, students must complete a minimum of 30 venipuncture and ten capillary live sticks. Upon successfully completing the program, students will earn a BLS/First Aid Certification and the Certified Phlebotomy Technician (CPT).
Length: 75 hours

Students must be a minimum of 18 years of age and have a high school diploma or GED equivalency.

Certified Medical Assistant
This course prepares students to understand foundational knowledge in basic science, anatomy and physiology, medical terminology, pharmacology, and nutrition. As well as clinical patient care related to phlebotomy, electrocardiography, parenteral administration, point-of-care testing, assessment & management skills. This course provides instruction of administrative tasks related to clinical medical assistants. Upon successfully completing the program, students will earn a BLS/First Aid Certification and the Certified Clinical Medical Assistant (CCMA).
Length: 230 hours (150 hours classroom/80 hours clinical)
